How Five Simple Words Can Get You What You Want | Janine Driver | TEDxHa...

Like I said, I cannot get enough of this stuff.  This woman used to be with the ATF, she teaches all over the world.  Listen to her I know you can learn something fresh today!

Reading Body Language | Janine Driver | TEDxDeerPark

In a different lifetime I would work for the FBI, I would be a spy.  I even looked into it a few years ago but I am too old-apparently 50 is too old to start in the FBI.  I have always loved analyzing people's behaviors, body language, how they write.  I did a report in college on hand writing analysis in 1986 so this has been a long standing passion of mine.  I simply cannot get enough of learning about body language, etc.  I could listen to this stuff 24/7.  Sometimes I have to shut my mind off of it because I start doubting and analyzing every person I come in contact with which can take over my mind and keep me from being present.  This woman has several videos on the web if you want to hear more.

She keeps things pretty simple but here is the basics:

1. Watch people's eyes

2. Watch their lips

3. Watch their shoulders

Watch her videos, you will be impressed!!

ZUMBA FITNESS 40" WORKOUT - ZUMBA DANCE BURN CALORIES

I simply do not have the time to go to the gym anymore and after a look on you tube, I realized I don't need to go necessarily.   There are so many free videos online to watch and sweat to.  I have done several different Zumba workouts online now and enjoy it at home.  I am not sure my dog appreciates me dancing around the living room without petting her but somehow I am able to do it without tripping over her.  I am not going to post all the Zumba and other fitness videos I have watched BUT here is the lesson for the day:

1. If you want to work out you can do it

2. if you don't want to spend money you don't have to BUT make sure you wear good shoes even if you are doing it in your living room!

3. if you are moving you are steps ahead of the person sitting on the couch so don't beat yourself up for doing "at home videos" instead of a gym- I'm dripping with sweat when I am done so I know I am having a "real" workout!!

4. Pick what you like because there are probably hundreds and hundreds of workout videos out there.

 Be careful-don't hurt yourself!

Joe Rogan Experience #1361 - Cmdr. David Fravor & Jeremy Corbell

I don't know what your thoughts are regarding UFO'S or alien life but my theory is....why should we be so arrogant to think that God only made us.  It seems a little prideful if you ask me.  I found this interesting

Great Leaders Do What Drug Addicts Do | Michael Brody-Waite | TEDxNashville

This story is phenomenal.

Here is what I learned:

1. Be authentic.  This really hit me hard, I thought I was being authentic in my life but after reflecting on this talk I realized I am not truly authentic.  He states he wore masks and then peeled the many layers of masks off.  I think I do this, I have a mask as the perfect wife, ahhahahahahahaha.  I have a mask of the all together woman, superwoman, supermom, perfect grieving parent, perfect, perfect, etc hahahahhahahahahahaha.  I don't like weakness but I think that is because I don't like to exhibit it in my own life.  I don't give myself permission to be weak, my life hasn't ever given me the choice to be weak.  When having to be strong is all you have then you can either be strong or weak and I have always chosen the strong.  Everyone has their stories, everyone has their stuff so I'm not going to list off mine BUT I need to be more authentic.   I see peers and others that I look up to, that have that extra thing, call it charisma, call it charm but that is not what it is.  It is authenticity, it is the ability they have to be real or at least an appearance of authenticity, they show their true selves to others.

2. Be willing to surrender to the outcome.  Well, if you are authentic you can do this, but if you like to be the strong one in the room that is difficult to do.   I have a saying "When man makes plans, God laughs"  I have given much to God, I have given Him so many of my hopes and dreams and let Him do with it want He wants.  I have surrendered my life to Christ and I have followed him for longer than I have not.  BUT it is easy to take control over life and not surrender the outcomes.  Challenging statement.

3. Be willing to do the difficult stuff as if your life depends on it.  Wow, what a statement.  I do feel I do the difficult stuff.  Maybe I need to do it 110% and not just do it, but again, this is a challenging statement.

I think when speakers challenge you, I don't just like getting a message and the speaker finishes.  I like when the speaker challenges you, asks you how you are going to take what they say and be a better person or make a better world with the information, so....

How are you going to be authentic?

What is it you want to surrender?

What difficult stuff are you not doing?

I have a list of my own, but I hope you all listen to this and challenge yourselves to be authentic, surrender and do the tough stuff too.

Tribute to Grieving Parents - Lady Gaga - Til It Happens To You

I saw Lady Gaga last month at a local dance club in my town.  I can't say for sure it was her, but if I was a betting person I would lay down $100 bucks on the affirmative.  I didn't go up and ask her if she was who I thought she was, I didn't take rude pictures. In my hometown we are pretty kind and let people be the people they want to be.  It would have been rude for me to get in her face, if it was her, she probably just wanted to hang out and dance to good music like the rest of us.  That is how my town rolls.  Anyway, after my sighting of her I pulled up some of her music on you tube and found this song.  I have never heard it before but is is spot on and made me cry because I KNOW THIS LOSS.  I know the pain and it is especially strong today because, 13 years ago today my family lost DJ, our 13 year old son due to a skateboarding accident.  We all loved him, he was the glue.  I miss his smelly 13 year old body and I miss the man he was supposed to be.  I miss the brother he was to his sister and his brother and I hate that our family was robbed of so much.

This is a song that speaks volumes.  There is nothing to learn about this except love the family you have, tell them you love them EVERYDAY because you don't know when you can't say those words to their beautiful, wonderful faces again.   Much love,   Lisa-forever DJ's mom
